STEP

Smart technician resource-planning for machine maintenance (Smart Services World I technology programme)

The aim of "STEP" is to plan the deployment of technicians efficiently and automatically on the basis of the predicted maintenance requirements of machines. For this purpose, all relevant data such as predictive error messages, machine specifications and context information are collected and based on this data technician orders are supported and controlled in an intelligent way. This information can be provided centrally and in compliance with data protection regulations via a cloud platform. The service appointments are planned in such a way that maintenance requirements, customer requirements and the availability of technicians are taken into account in the best possible way. STEP improves service quality, accelerates service processes and prevents unplanned machine downtime thanks to innovative technologies that gather and deliver service technician knowledge available around the world.
