Using car data in compliance with data protection regulations (Smart Services World I technology programme)

Modern cars are moving computers that constantly collect, store and send data. The transmission and use of all this operating and sensor data is currently still a matter of debate. "CAR-BITS.de" is developing a service platform that enables vehicle data to be used for new services in compliance with data protection regulations. The goal is to protect data against misuse and allow car drivers to decide on the use of their data. Service prototypes will be used to demonstrate how dynamic entries in digital maps can increase traffic safety, how cars can automatically report missing road markings and how various car manufacturers and suppliers can be networked in accordance with legal requirements.
