QuarZ

"Quartier Zukunft" - The smart urban neighbourhood (Smart Services World II technology programme)

This research project makes an important contribution to the development of one platform for all urban digital technologies. The platform pools the data of the increasingly networked urban living space and interconnects it, thereby making it usable for additional applications. Primary beneficiaries of this service are residents, for example, who are able to use an app on their smartphone to find the nearest free parking space in a matter of seconds. Alternatively, they can have their electricity bills analysed in a smart way and learn how they can save electricity and money in the future. This makes it possible for municipal administrations and companies to develop and offer new services on the basis of this data.
