OPTIMOS 2.0

Development of an open, practical infrastructure for mobile services (Smart Services World II technology programme)

Anyone who wants to use a mobile service such as a car sharing app needs an electronic identity (eID). An eID is usually created by opening a customer account with a user name and password, which forms the basis for using the service. In security-critical cases, however, the trust level of a simple customer account is not high enough because the identity of the user must be verified. The project is therefore developing an open ecosystem to provide technologies and infrastructure for secure online authentication using mobile devices.
