Franco-German AI innovation projects

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) cooperates with the French Ministère de l’Économie, des Finances et de la Souveraineté industrielle et numérique (MEFSIN) in the field of artificial intelligence.

The results of the joint funding call on artificial intelligence technologies for risk prevention, crisis management and resilience were presented by the French Ministry MEFSIN and the BMWK at the BMWK International Symposium in Berlin on 9 September 2021. Project proposals for the French-German cooperation have been submitted for the applications in health, economy and sustainability. Five projects have been selected for funding in 2022: one health project, two economic projects and two sustainability projects. All projects were launched in spring 2022. The French-German AI innovation projects will strengthen the cooperative research and innovation networks and expand the common AI ecosystem. The aim is to develop new AI solutions to make our world more resilient to crises.

The five selected projects will receive a total of €17.9 million in funding from the BMWK and the MEFSIN.
