AIOLOS: Stakeholder Kick-off in Berlin

The Franco-German AIOLOS project aims to develop a web-based multidimensional data platform to combat emerging epidemics of respiratory diseases. Under the keywords ALERT - MONITOR - PREDICT, new epidemics will be detected early, their spread will be tracked in detail, and possible interventions will be simulated. For this purpose, data from various fields and disciplines will be integrated and analyzed using artificial intelligence meth-ods. The goal is to be able to make timely economic and political decisions based on well-founded information and to explain and communicate them adequately.

The kick-off meeting at the Fraunhofer Forum Berlin was a good opportunity to explain the ambitions and goals of the AIOLOS project and to discuss possible synergies with key players in epidemic and pandemic preparedness. The event was highlighted by the inspiring presentations by the guest speakers, which included leaders from the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Agency (HERA), and leading experts in epidemiology, virology, and computational science.

More information about the project and the detailed agenda of the kick-off are available on the project website.
