2nd QC Next Community Workshop: Help shape the future of quantum software

The QC Next innovation concept has been commissioned by the BMWK to determine the basis for a comprehensive framework of quantum computing software for commercial applications. On 11 March, members of the quantum computing community are invited to take part in this process.

Quantum computing is still a young, dynamic field of research and development. However, thanks in part to the contributions of the BMWK technology programme ‘Quantum Computing - Applications for Industry’, numerous software methods and tools are already emerging that will make quantum computers easier to use for potential commercial applications in the future.

The innovation concept ‘QCNext’, funded by the BMWK, aims to explore the possibilities of a holistic architecture for a comprehensive quantum software stack. This should make it possible to easily utilise the tools to create industrial applications through abstractions and engineering models. In a first workshop on 6 November 2024 in Berlin, the project presented initial results to the broad quantum computing community and collected requirements and findings.

The project is now offering the opportunity to discuss how the further design of such an architecture can succeed in a second community workshop on 11 March 2025 at the Forum Digitale Technologien in Berlin.

Use your chance to help shape possible new funding activities of the BMWK and participate in shaping the future of the quantum computing software stack! Participation is free of charge.
