Germany is one of the world's leading economies, and digital technologies are a key driver of innovation that characterise our economy and our daily lives. Innovative solutions for the challenges of our time are created in the "Development of digital technologies" funding area. The funded projects address technological topics of the future for digital change at an early stage and help to accelerate the transfer of market-orientated cutting-edge technologies into the economy.

A current video uses a series of project examples to illustrate what this looks like in concrete terms. These range from automated on-demand public transport systems, AI-supported smart living services and environmentally friendly video streaming solutions to quantum computing in industrial production. 5G campus networks in shipbuilding and digital twins to reduce food waste are also part of the developments.
