Digital technologies are an important enabler for the transformation towards circular economic systems. With the technology programme "GreenTech Innovation Competition - Digital Technologies as a Lever for the Circular Economy", the BMFTR is strengthening Germany as a leading location for digital technologies of the future and business models based on them, making an important contribution to achieving the goals and implementing the national circular economy strategy.

Funding will be provided for 20 outstanding cross-company and cross-institutional collaborative projects with a lighthouse character. The projects are primarily intended to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technology from research to industry, in particular to SMEs, and to promote spillover effects and imitation effects in industry and society.
