Semantic Analysis of Complex Events

Logo SAKE

Mechanical engineering has always been one of Germany’s strongest industrial sectors. This sector owes much of its success to the increasing automation of industrial processes by using information and communication technologies. Daily, this incurs petabytes of new data. To ensure smooth production processes, the smart processing of huge streams of digital information is essential. A sensible automatic analysis of this data is not possible with existing tools, because these were not designed for processing such a magnitude of rapidly changing data streams.

The aim of SAKE is to develop a platform for the efficient integration and processing of streams of heterogeneous event data in production facilities. In the future, this should make it possible to gain insights from the fast growing flood of data so that it will be possible to react to sources of errors and by doing so, achieve a reduction in production costs by up to 50 percent. The key areas of application for SAKE are in the fields of mechanical engineering and IT monitoring.
