Reducing food waste sustainably with AI

Food waste in the food industry is essentially due to two problems, i.e. too much is produced and the quality of the raw materials varies too much. This is why many products are destroyed, often before they reach the market. The REIF project is developing a platform that optimises the exchange of data and information in the food industry across all stages of the value chain. AI-based services and individual applications enable better forecasting of consumer demand and faster adjustment of production processes, significantly reducing food waste.
