Within the framework of 5GMedCamp, the treatment of patients with a permanent left ventricular assist device (LVAD) shall be improved - both in hospital and in post-stationary telemedical care. To this end, continuously recorded medical data will be transmitted over an adaptive and dynamic 5G high-power network and analyzed using state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. The uninterrupted transmission can significantly improve remote telemedical care and detect medical complications of the procedure (e.g., pump thrombosis, infections, strokes) or technical problems at an early stage.
On April 27, 2022, the project will exhibit at the DMEA trade fair in Berlin. A laboratory test setup for the heart support system (LVAD) developed by the German Heart Institute Berlin (DHZB) will be presented at booth F-109 in hall 2.2 of the project partner Synios GmbH, demonstrating how vital data collected by sensors is streamed in real time to the telemedicine workstation.
