The QuaST project intends to simplify the use of quantum computers through the development of high-level libraries and services down to the co-design level. With the help of these libraries, the solution to an application problem will be automatically decomposed into classical, HPC and quantum computing parts, which will then be mapped to the hardware level in an optimized way. As a result, end users in industry should only require minimal knowledge of quantum computing hardware and hardware-related software components. Complex optimization problems from production and logistics serve as use cases.

A good six months after the start of the project, representatives of all consortium partners met on July 19 and 20 on the premises of the research campus in Munich Garching to give each other an insight into the current status of the project. For many, it was the first opportunity to meet in person after only collaborating virtually so far. The intensive exchange between partners and work packages was correspondingly motivated. Based on the promising results of the meeting, the cooperation between the consortium partners will be deepened in the near future in order to jointly tackle the next project milestones.
