The joint project UCARe4Citizen is investigating and developing the technical framework for representing the climate impacts of urban planning measures. Based on 3D city models, individual building models and geodata, a so-called Urban Climate Model (UCM) is being developed. This allows the microclimatic influences of building measures, such as surface temperatures, pollutant concentrations or flow profiles, to be quantified. The resulting results are presented in such a way that they can be interpreted not only by experts: Visualisation techniques from the field of augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) help here. The effects of construction measures can thus be communicated much more directly to all those involved in planning, but also to local residents, for example.
