Projectfilm MIGRATE!: Saving energy with the cloud
Traveling by plane has become more comfortable over time. However, we barely ever recognize that a large amount of data, from different places, is generated in the background while checking in, boarding our luggage, at the baggage claim or boarding. Processing this data is progressing with huge deviations and energy consumption is highly variable during these processes as well. For that reason ICT infrastructures are used in a highly inefficient way. The movie of the project MIGRATE! demonstrates how the project partners realise increases in efficiency of complex ICT-processes at the Stuttgart airport with the help of cloud-computing. No doubt: compared to ordinary technologies the energy efficiency is clearly higher when using cloud-computing.
