Smart Data for Mobility

Taking the tram to the train station and the train to the next city, then driving a carsharing vehicle to the destination and a plane and a taxi back again: For today's mobility needs, various means of transport are available to travellers. Either by road, rail or air, the use of these mobility options varies to a great extent and is difficult to predict for providers. At the same time, the mobility sector is highly fragmented with many different providers.

The project "SD4M - Smart Data for Mobility" is developing a cross-industry service platform which uses data from various mobility providers and other data sources such as social media, and provides it in an edited form. Based on this big data analytics platform for smart data management, an "ecosystem" for multimodal smart mobility services is being created. In the future, this SD4M platform will, on the one hand, help mobility service providers to optimize their forecasts, planning and capacity and on the other hand, facilitate travel for travellers.
