Clinical Data Intelligence

Logo KDI

Patient data in today’s clinical environment comes from a variety of sources and is available in different formats: personal and genome data, diagnostic data from ECGs, CT or MRI scans, information about treatments or data about medication, along with text, audio and image data both in structured and unstructured forms. In most cases however, this data is not linked and some of the doctors providing treatment have no access to it.

The project "KDI - Clinical Data Intelligence" wants to automate the analysis of large and complex patient data, thereby making it drastically simpler. To achieve this, all available patient data from various sources will be combined into a patient data model. Only through this integration is it possible to create the foundations for innovative services for the care of patients and medical research. This solution can be applied to all clinical pictures and will be demonstrated by KDI using two example diseases: breast cancer and kidney transplantation. This will improve care and unburden clinical doctors, because medical decisions will be made easier. With the aid of an app infrastructure, more providers – in particular SMEs – can participate with their solutions.
