SmartEnergyHub

Data Hub for Smart Energy Use

Logo SmartEnergyHub

In light of the energy transition and the rapidly changing energy market, a reliable, stable and affordable energy supply for infrastructure such as air or sea ports, industry and chemicals parks, factories or manufacturing plants is an immense challenge. In particular, the operation of energy-related plants often functions plant-specific and without smart networking, which makes it difficult to coordinate between the plants themselves. The SmartEnergyHub research project deals with the question of how the operators of such critical infrastructure can optimise energy management.

SmartEnergyHub follows an approach based on a sensor-based smart data platform that combines energy management data, weather forecasts and the connection to external marketplaces, and thereby taps into energy saving potentials. Energy efficiency increases can be achieved through a holistic view of all existing energy-related plants. Using the example of Stuttgart Airport, SmartEnergyHub aims to show how saving potentials and surplus values for the running of infrastructures can be realised through intelligent IT solutions.
