Data as an economic asset– European data economy or data property?

An economic consideration of data as one of the central assets in the context of big data, Industry 4.0 or the Internet of Things creates major challenges for the legal system, and the introduction of a consultation process on the creation of a “European data economy” by the EU Commission now also indicates its growing importance in the European dimension.
